Born in the former Belgian Congo (now the DRC) and trained in the U.S., Switzerland, and England, he earned his Master of Art from the Royal College of Art in London and received numerous honors including the Swiss Federal Government Scholarship.
His work is held in major public and private collections worldwide, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Greece, the Orange County Museum of Art (Newport Beach), and the Florence Griswold Museum.
