Pair of Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Footed Planters, Octagonal Form

A pair of Chinese export-style blue and white porcelain planters, each raised on a hexagonal pierced footed base. The flared octagonal bodies are hand-painted in rich cobalt blue with alternating reserve panels depicting traditional river landscape scenes,  pagodas, sailing boats, and misty mountains,  interspersed with panels of flowering plants and foliage. The pierced hexagonal foot is further decorated with scrolling motifs and calligraphic-style banding. Second half of the 20th century.

Acquired from a distinguished Palm Beach estate.
